Sunday Night Movies

We watched a couple of movies today.  I really enjoyed Unstoppable.  Just had that suspense thing going for me and I love Denzel so it was a gooder!  The second movie Dear Mr. Gacy was a bit dark and sad in a way.  At least for me anyway.  All in all two decent movies.  That doesn't happen all that often.

Streaming Games!

Onlive Game System  - This is actually a pretty awesome concept...at least if you've got a decent broadband connection.  I read a few reviews and it looks like it works pretty good.  The only thing is they need to grow their library of games.  Time will tell if they go big or go out...of business.

It's a damn blizzard out there!!!  Make it stop please.  Thank you.

Who doesn't love Mario?

Leave it to gaming companies to re-design old games and sell a ton of them.  Albeit this is the 25th Anniversary of Mario!  I think it's a great Christmas gift at that price.  Check it out!

The Kite Runner

This book was definitely a change in reading for me.  Mainly I've been reading sci-fi's and whatnot.  I was pleasantly surprised by this novel.  It kept me interested and it was an easy read.  I haven't seen the movie yet but am interested now...just to see how they adapted it to the screen.  If you're wondering what to read, I do recommend this one...no matter what genre you're usually into. :-P

Movies

Managed to watch two movies yesterday and not one minute of NFL football?  How the heck did that happen???  LOL  Didn't kill me and I see my Seahawks took a kicking from a division team.  Oh well.

The pup's got some moves!

This made me laugh out loud. Had to share it!

Saturday night movies

We kicked back and watched a few movies yesterday.  I have to say...even though I am a die hard sci-fi fan, Skyline was pretty lame-o.  Another disappointing alien movie for me.  Still in the lead for best Alien flick in recent years?  Gigi and I are in agreement.  District 9.  If you're one of the few that haven't seen that movie...GET ON IT already!

We also watched the original 1982 movie Tron.  The new one comes out next weekend.  Gigi had not seen the original and it's been years since I've watched the old one too.  I loved it's total cheesy sci-fi self.  Gigi had that sort of blank stare happening but is still game for the new 3D version in the theatre. *s*

Hope for the hopeless after all?

Rewind Button

Yesterday, my heart was pounding with anticipation.  When would I see her?  Would it be days or maybe a week?  I didn't know...but surely I could wait that long???  Couldn't I?  A dilemma that I felt was manageable. She would be coming home. When, didn't matter.  She would be in my arms and I wouldn't let her go once she was there. That was yesterday.  Today my heart died. Today I lost a big piece of it. Today my heart flatlined. She's not coming home.  Really, why would she?  I've caused so much pain it's just too much for any one individual to make it through.  So today...she's gone.  It's just a matter of time that she finds her way and remembers me only as a very bad dream she once had. I know there is love waiting for her now...just a matter of her walking through an already open door.  As my growing sadness intensifies I think, wouldn't it be great if I could get a hold of a rewind button?  But as I sit here I realize that I would need to hit that button over and over...and even then...would there be a time she loved me...had hope in me...in us?  When was that time?  That's the thing...there is no rewind button.  There is only one's past.  No one ever forgets.  We are the sum of our experiences.  Nothing more.  Nothing less.  My pain is real.  Today is not. I've lost her all over again.  I've lost her forever.  I've lost her for good.  I wish I had a rewind button.  I would probably rewind so far back to my childhood...start a new and maybe grow into a person with fewer hangups, issues, problems.  Would that button have helped us?  I'll never know.  It doesn't exist.

Her name is grace.  She was able to briefly lead me from darkness and show me some light. I will love her until the end of time for that.

Flatline

Countdown to Zero

5 out of 5
This is a must see documentary.  Watch it!

Useless Information

Today is all about football.  Of course I'm an avid fan of the NFL and my Seattle Seahawks but even "I" will be checking in to see if the Roughriders can right their wrong in last year's Grey Cup.  It should be a great battle...or at least...one can hope. *s*  I'm On Call this weekend so I'm counting on everyone else watching football and NOT calling because they are unable to connect to work via their VPN.  *fingers crossed*

Movies

I watched a couple movies yesterday.  One not so bad...one not so good but I expected it with the title Moby Dick!  Buried was pretty suspenseful if you're into that kind of movie.

Monsters

I have to say this movie was nothing what I had anticipated. Basically a human story on the shirt tails of some aliens. I found it pretty slow and some of the scenes dragged on more than they should have in my opinion. Cinematography in certain places was striking though.

Cute Movie - The First Men on the Moon

Worth a watch in my opinion...probably. *s*

Legion

Watched Legion this afternoon.  Meh.  I liked Resident Evil alot more.  Squeegy had no interest whatsoever in it either...but it was close to her feeding time.  She has a one track mind during that time.  No movie would hold her interest. *s*

New movie??? Cowboys and Aliens

Looks...um...I dunno???

Resident Evil: Afterlife

Finally watched this movie.  I enjoyed it.  Mindless entertainment.  I liked the big zombie dude. Walk softly and carry a big stick.  Funny thing...Squeegy my cat was quite captivated by this movie.  She watched practically the whole thing and I'm not exaggerating!  Guess she's a fan of zombies and special effects. *s*

Planet of the Apes

Over the past couple of weeks I have watched the old Planet of the Apes movies that first came out in 1968. The fifth and final chapter came out in 1973. I tell ya...it was good times. Don't kid yourself! I hardly remember anything from the last four but did remember the first movie. Not sure why that was. Those oldies are always good for a chuckle and well worth a second look.  Now maybe I should watch the 2001 version

Movie Time

Watched this movie last night here at home.  Was fairly entertaining.  Reminded me of The Expendables a bit but this one had more of a story to it and I enjoyed the little humor throughout.  I would say this is one to watch. *s*

Great start for the Seahawks

Game 1 had the Seahawks taking care of business.  Beating San Fransico 31-6.  I thought the defense played an amazing game.  Love the excitement the new coach brings to the team also.  Considering we only won 5 games last year we are off to a great start!!!  Keep it up SEAHAWKS!

Even Sea Lions Gotta Do It!!!

Movie Night

Just finished watching Prince of Persia and Clash of the Titans.  Both were pretty good but I give the edge to Prince of Persia.  I think most would agree.  One interesting note.  Both main "woman" characters in these movies were played by the same person --> Gemma Christina Arterton

PS: Loved all the monsters in Clash. :-P

The Expendables

This movie is not...I repeat...NOT a chick flick.  This is 100% pure guy film!!!  I enjoyed it thoroughly. heh heh  I especially loved the sound of the big gun. :-P  If you want to see all the explosions on the big screen than go to the theatre.  I didn't feel I missed out on anything watching it on the TV but that may be just me.  If you've caught yourself watching too many soft movies lately.  Check out The Expendables.  Good for some great action, see some old actors and laugh a bit.

Insignia Infocast

This little device is actually pretty usable.  Toss it in your bathroom, kitchen or use it as your alarm clock!  Great price point for what you can do with it.  Check out the review.  You can get it at Best Buy.

Batman: Under the Red Hood

Just finished watching this one.  My kind of cartoon!  Does this make me a traitor because I am a Marvel fan and more specifically...a Spiderman fan?  heh heh  At any rate.  I enjoyed the movie.

Lake Mungo

Watched this last night.  Pretty good scare flick if you are looking for something like that.  Worth a watch.  It gave me the creeps anyway.

Data the Beta

Data was my fish.  He died through the night.  He seemed fine before I went to bed...nothing unusual but he was gone when I woke up to give my cat her morning pill.  I'm gonna miss the little guy.  Our little chats...the way he acted "dog like" when it was feeding time...the way he puffed up and defended his territory if you stared him down.  He was my first fish since childhood.  I'm sad he's gone.

Powerful Movie

I just watched The Stoning of Soraya M.  This is a must see film.  A grim reminder of the world we still live in today.  This is NOT a feel good movie but I highly recommend it.  There are two heroes that stand out in this movie.  First of course, Soraya.  Second, her aunt Zahra who refused to keep quiet.

Watch it.
