Sunday Night Movies

We watched a couple of movies today.  I really enjoyed Unstoppable.  Just had that suspense thing going for me and I love Denzel so it was a gooder!  The second movie Dear Mr. Gacy was a bit dark and sad in a way.  At least for me anyway.  All in all two decent movies.  That doesn't happen all that often.

Movies

Managed to watch two movies yesterday and not one minute of NFL football?  How the heck did that happen???  LOL  Didn't kill me and I see my Seahawks took a kicking from a division team.  Oh well.

Saturday night movies

We kicked back and watched a few movies yesterday.  I have to say...even though I am a die hard sci-fi fan, Skyline was pretty lame-o.  Another disappointing alien movie for me.  Still in the lead for best Alien flick in recent years?  Gigi and I are in agreement.  District 9.  If you're one of the few that haven't seen that movie...GET ON IT already!

We also watched the original 1982 movie Tron.  The new one comes out next weekend.  Gigi had not seen the original and it's been years since I've watched the old one too.  I loved it's total cheesy sci-fi self.  Gigi had that sort of blank stare happening but is still game for the new 3D version in the theatre. *s*

Countdown to Zero

5 out of 5
This is a must see documentary.  Watch it!

Movies

I watched a couple movies yesterday.  One not so bad...one not so good but I expected it with the title Moby Dick!  Buried was pretty suspenseful if you're into that kind of movie.

Monsters

I have to say this movie was nothing what I had anticipated. Basically a human story on the shirt tails of some aliens. I found it pretty slow and some of the scenes dragged on more than they should have in my opinion. Cinematography in certain places was striking though.

Cute Movie - The First Men on the Moon

Worth a watch in my opinion...probably. *s*

Legion

Watched Legion this afternoon.  Meh.  I liked Resident Evil alot more.  Squeegy had no interest whatsoever in it either...but it was close to her feeding time.  She has a one track mind during that time.  No movie would hold her interest. *s*

New movie??? Cowboys and Aliens

Looks...um...I dunno???

Resident Evil: Afterlife

Finally watched this movie.  I enjoyed it.  Mindless entertainment.  I liked the big zombie dude. Walk softly and carry a big stick.  Funny thing...Squeegy my cat was quite captivated by this movie.  She watched practically the whole thing and I'm not exaggerating!  Guess she's a fan of zombies and special effects. *s*

Planet of the Apes

Over the past couple of weeks I have watched the old Planet of the Apes movies that first came out in 1968. The fifth and final chapter came out in 1973. I tell ya...it was good times. Don't kid yourself! I hardly remember anything from the last four but did remember the first movie. Not sure why that was. Those oldies are always good for a chuckle and well worth a second look.  Now maybe I should watch the 2001 version

Movie Night

Just finished watching Prince of Persia and Clash of the Titans.  Both were pretty good but I give the edge to Prince of Persia.  I think most would agree.  One interesting note.  Both main "woman" characters in these movies were played by the same person --> Gemma Christina Arterton

PS: Loved all the monsters in Clash. :-P

The Expendables

This movie is not...I repeat...NOT a chick flick.  This is 100% pure guy film!!!  I enjoyed it thoroughly. heh heh  I especially loved the sound of the big gun. :-P  If you want to see all the explosions on the big screen than go to the theatre.  I didn't feel I missed out on anything watching it on the TV but that may be just me.  If you've caught yourself watching too many soft movies lately.  Check out The Expendables.  Good for some great action, see some old actors and laugh a bit.

Batman: Under the Red Hood

Just finished watching this one.  My kind of cartoon!  Does this make me a traitor because I am a Marvel fan and more specifically...a Spiderman fan?  heh heh  At any rate.  I enjoyed the movie.

Lake Mungo

Watched this last night.  Pretty good scare flick if you are looking for something like that.  Worth a watch.  It gave me the creeps anyway.

Powerful Movie

I just watched The Stoning of Soraya M.  This is a must see film.  A grim reminder of the world we still live in today.  This is NOT a feel good movie but I highly recommend it.  There are two heroes that stand out in this movie.  First of course, Soraya.  Second, her aunt Zahra who refused to keep quiet.

Watch it.

District 9

What's this? Another sci-fi coming out??? Oh my goodness...this is a bit of overload for me. lol

Pandorum

I just saw this preview on TV and cannot wait to see it in the theatre. I'm a huge sci-fi fan so this is right up my alley. :-P

Happy Earth Day!

Disney Nature released their movie "Earth" today. I've seen a lot of trailers on The Discovery Channel and National Geographic lately. I'm looking forward to seeing this one. Sure it may be a little sugar coated as it is Disney that has it's paw print on it but I'm sure it will still look breathtaking on the big screen. Can't wait.

Slumdog Millionaire

This is a must see movie. It's very well done. There's not too much more to say here. Watch it.
