Winter Wonderland

Sunday in Edmonton. It pretty much snowed the entire day yesterday. Now it's cold. Yuk.

Edmonton Storm

I stumbled upon a gallery of pictures people have been sending in from the aftermath of Edmonton's storm Saturday night here. Craziness. I read that Environment Canada measured the wind at 134km's east of the city from a tower that was snapped in half just after recording. That speed is rated the same as an F1 tornado. Yikes.

Water Park

Today will be a milestone for me. Having lived in Alberta for 23 years and the last 7 of those here in Edmonton. I am finally and somewhat hesitantly going to West Edmonton Mall's Water Park today. Family is in from BC and Calgary and of course it's one of the attractions they want to experience. So here I go...on a summer Saturday no doubt. This should be interesting and crazy busy. Pray for me.

Saturday Morning in the City

I just took this shot. My thermometer on my deck say's it's a balmy -18c. Pretty nice considering at the beginning of the week we were in some very nasty temperatures. The view from my condo never gets old to me, although it may be that way for some that see my pictures all the time! For me though, I inhale it in and sometimes I can't get enough. I'm looking forward to the summer when I can enjoy my morning coffee on the deck. For now, I'll stay warm and sit here bundled up and enjoy all I can through the window.

Enjoy your Saturday all. *s*

Good Morning Accident

Well it's another gorgeous day here in Edmonton. Meaning, it's a good day to stay in! When I looked out the window this morning there were Car "Toons" happening on the hill. It looks like it had just happened as within 10 minutes there were emergency vehicles on scene. They took one person away on a stretcher. Probably someone going too fast for the road conditions and no doubt has summer tires on!

It is supposed to drop in temperature all day. Edmonton is looking at -29c tomorrow. I am not looking forward to that!

In the pictures you can see how the snow coming down gets gradually worse. Yup...it's a good day to stay in!

The Corner

This is a photo I took back in April of 2004. Terry Vaughn's pub is no longer on that corner here in Edmonton. It is one of my favorite pictures. I removed the colour because I think the shot looks a lot better without it. Have a look at the larger size by clicking on it!
